This is a study of the very common blues melody known as “Key To The Highway.” It’s an easier arrangement of the older FiliskoStore study song, “Key To The High Weigh.” The song is associated with Big Bill Broonzy and Jazz Gillum and was first recorded in 1941. It is an 8-bar blues song and is unique because bar 2 is a V chord, followed by 2 bars of the IV chord. Most bands that even play a little bit of blues know this song. It is a melodic style blues song due to the strong catchy melody.
